This time we have Hornby AcHO getting in on the scene. AcHO is the French version of Hornby Dublo- "AcHO" is pronounced Ash-ow and is how the French say "HO". They produced some great French outline models from the early sixties until 1973. The BB9200 loco still looks great with a tiny bit of work. The mechanism is very similar (if not identical) to the Dublo / Wrenn class 20. Running characteristics are very good, although my one wiggles a bit. The loco is pulling a rake of AcHO CIWL pullmans. Again, these look really good indeed, although they are short. Couplings have been replaced so they are closer coupled. The baggage van is a new generation Rivarossi, which doesn't stand out too much.
This train is accompanied by a Jouef BB25000 hauling an improved Lima Cinema coach and Jouef Dev Inox. It proved very hard to find pictures of the cinema coach in action, but I found one that I included in the video. I lowered the bogies on the coach, added silver around the windows, painted out the yellow stripe above the window and added a silver stripe below. I glued on a couple of SNCF Macarons and painted them silver. All as per the photo. Looks pretty good, and the fact that it is too short doesn't show that much. As far as I can see, there is a Dev Inox bar coach next to the cinema coach. I have one of these (possibly a slightly different version with a larger bar), but added it further down the rake by mistake. Otherwise, I have tried to recreate the train in the photo. I think is was a Marseilles express in the mid to late sixties. The Jouef BB25000 is actually a very satisfying looking loco too, once you paint the grey and silver round the windows etc.
