Trichomonas vaginalis

Wet-mount prep from vaginal swab. Note beating of the four anterior flagella (though not all may be seen at the same time) at one of the poles, and the undulating membrane on the body of the cell itself. Since active motility is important to make the diagnosis, the specimen should not be refridgerated and the time between specimen collection and slide examination minimized.
