Porcelain jars, components thrown, trimmed
Porcelain jars, components thrown, trimmed and neatly assembled, a process I adored, struggled with, and learnt a tremendous amount through.
Prior to this, I hadn’t work with porcelain for years. It was a challenge at times but my hands rapidly adjusted to this sticky material. The throwing and trimming were quite straightforward generally but issues did arise when glazing, (don’t they always?). I didn’t have many ’s’ cracks but there were other splits, stress fractures I think, caused by my glazes being coated inconsistently, they were thicker on the outside and thinner on the inside form, together with some of the porcelain just being trimmed way too thin.
All this means I need another go at them, perhaps with a different porcelain clay too.
