Diamond Hill Station was opened in 1979 along with the initial opening of the Hong Kong MTR. Later in 2020, the Tuen Ma Line (Phase 1) opened, the station was transformed into a high-usage interchange station. Even though it is called "Diamond" Hill, there are absolutely no diamonds to be found here, it is just a mistranslation of the Chinese word "rock quarrying" several decades ago. Also, there is a "Hollywood" next to the station, which is kind of a description of this place was once nicknamed the "Eastern Hollywood".
鑽石山站在1979年啟用，是香港最早的地鐵車站之一。其後在2020年，屯馬綫（一期）通車，鑽石山成為使用量高的轉車站。雖然車站有「鑽石」一詞，但附近並無任何鑽石被開採過，這個地名的英文在幾十年前被錯誤地翻譯，「鑽石」一詞原本是一個動作。此外，車站附近有個「荷里活（好萊塢）」，指的是附近曾被稱為東方荷里活（好萊塢）。
