How to Smooth a Canvas Surface with Gesso & Sandpaper

Using several layers of Gesso I go through the steps of creating a smooth surface on a canvas. This is important for artists who want to make prints, but don't want to see the woven texture of the canvas showing when they take pictures of their art or scan it. This treatment helps diminish the visible grain on the canvas.
