Thanks to Hadi Yahia for generously funding this external translation.

This performance of over 1000 daffs took place in the Khosrow Abad castle in Sanandaj, Kurdistan, Iran, as part of the Festival of 1000 Daffs that is held annually in the city. The Kurdish madih (poetry in praise of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) is performed by two vocalists whose names are unfortunately unknown. Sanandaj has a majority Kurd population and is known in Kurdish as Sina. The majority of its population are Sunnis who follow the Shafi'i maddhab (school of Islamic jurisprudence).

I modified the positioning of the subtitles to make sure they don't get in the way of the video too much, please let me know if there are any issues with them.

If you experience any issues with the audio or video please let me know so they can be fixed. If you believe there are mistakes in the translation or in this description, please let me know so I can check them – if they turn out to be wrong I will correct the video as soon as possible and credit you in this description.
