Salpha make high-quality clean energy products in Cross River, Nigeria. They're bringing clean power to some of the 600 million people in Africa who currently go without it. The company works with co-operatives and offers affordable finance, so even lower income customers can benefit.
Salpha’s products include solar home systems that power lights, fridges, fans, TVs and laptops, and more. The company is targeting small businesses, like tailors and hairdressers – more than half of its customers use their new energy supply to make a living.
The systems replace dirty and expensive diesel generators, in a country where energy costs have soared in recent years. Salpha, founded and run by entrepreneur Sandra Chukwudozie, is also tackling gender inequality in the energy sector, with a push to employ women in manufacturing and other roles.
