Concept of JIT was introduced
Concept of JIT was introduced in japan after world war 2.
Philosophy of just in time is execution of any operation only when it is needed.
In todays contemporary organizations several domains are interlinked with JIT. e.g.
1: Just in time inventory
2: Just in time purchasing
3: Just in time production.
Just in time inventory means to reduce or eliminate the storage of inventory.
Just in time purchasing is to purchase only when there is a need. No advance purchasing's are performed in JIT purchasing.
Just in time production is to perform production only when there is a customer requirement.
Just in time supply chain is basically pull supply chain in which product is being pulled by the customer.
JIT works on zero mistakes.
JIT means RIGHT FIRST TIME which means to perform operations efficiently and effectively to avoid rework and extra cost.
