ECOREGIONS OF TEXAS - Llano Estacado transitions to the Edwards Plateau

Driving southeastward from Midland to Big Lake, TX,  I observed the transition from the Llano Estacado to the  Edwards Plateau.  The northern, western, and eastern boundaries of the Llano Estacado area usually dramatic transitions in the landscape, however the southern boundary is subtle. Generally, the southern edge blends into the Edwards Plateau, although here there is a notable escarpment.
