전통 있는 중국집 ‘북경반점’의 주인 한사장(신구)은 재료 하나에서부터 주방의 분위기에 이르기까지 정성을 다한 장인정신으로 주변의 칭송을 받는 깐깐한 사람이다. 이런 한사장의 중국집엔 십 오년 된 주방장(명계남)과 그 밑에서 칼질을 하는 칼판, 또 그 밑에서 면을 뽑는 라면, 막내 택중(정준), 그리고 배달원 창원(김중기)이 있다.
어느 날, 중국에서 전통 춘장의 비법을 터득해 돌아와 커다란 중국집을 같이 내기로 약속했던 한사장의 어릴 적 친구 양재춘의 아들 양한국(김석훈)이 작은 춘장 단지 하나를 들고 북경반점에 찾아온다. 그리고 그는 매일 햇빛을 쬐이고 저어주며 한사장이 정성으로 대하는 5개의 춘장독을 보며 요리하는 사람의 자세를 배워간다.
한편, 여느 날과 같이 춘장을 돌보던 한사장은 자신의 천연 춘장 독에 화학조미료가 들어간 검은 춘장이 묻어있는 것을 보고 충격으로 쓰러져 실어증에 걸리고, 주방장은 규모가 큰 ‘만리장성’으로 떠나버린다. 이에 양한국은 한사장의 병간호와 함께 춘장을 돌보며 북경반점을 다시 일으키기로 결심하는데…
Mr. Han (Shin Gu), the owner of the traditional Chinese restaurant ‘Beijing Banjeom’, is a hard-nosed person who is praised by the people around him for his sincere craftsmanship, from each ingredient to the atmosphere of the kitchen. At this Chinese restaurant, there is a 15-year-old chef (Myung Gye-nam), a cleaver that cuts noodles under him, the youngest Taek-jung (Jeong Joon), and delivery man Chang-won (Kim Joong-ki).
One day, Yang Han-guk (Kim Seok-hun), the son of Yang Jae-chun, a childhood friend of Mr. Han, who had promised to open a large Chinese restaurant together after learning the secret of traditional chunjang from China, comes to Beijing Banjeom with a small jar of chunjang. And he learns the posture of a person who cooks by bathing in sunlight and stirring every day, watching the five Chunjang poisons that Mr. Han treats with sincerity.
Meanwhile, while taking care of chunjang as usual, Mr. Han sees black chunjang containing chemical seasoning in his natural chunjang poison, and collapses in shock and suffers from aphasia, and the chef leaves for the great wall of China. In response, both Koreas decide to bring back the Peking spots by taking care of Chunjang with President Han's nursing care...
