Are you considering the best place to live in Copenhagen? This video is a guide to help you find the best place to live in Copenhagen. I cover the six principal districts of Copenhagen, namely Vesterbro, the city (indre by), Østerbro+Nordhavn, Nørrebro, Frederiksberg, and Amager. If you look to the end, I will give you my recommendations for where I think it’s most interesting to live in Copenhagen right now.

Choosing where to live is more than finding a roof over your head. It's about the vibe of the neighborhood, the community, and how it fits with your lifestyle.

Every district in Copenhagen has its own unique charm and character, making it crucial to find the right match for you. Then there are the issues of housing pricing, commute to work, kindergartens, schools, etc. Where we choose to settle will define who we are in many ways, how our daily life and routine will be, and how we experience Copenhagen.

In my job, new colleagues often ask me, where the best place to settle in Copenhagen is. They have just arrived from the US or a large European or Asian City. They rent an apartment, which they consider a temporary solution, as they now have started to settle in and liking the Copenhagen life-style.

Typically, this is between ½ year to two years into the ‘Copenhagen experience’, where the decision has been made to “at least try this Danish adventure out for a few years more”. Of course my answer to the question can be as long as the winter in Denmark. But, in this video I have tried to shorten it down.

ABOUT ME

I have lived 30 years of my live in Copenhagen. But I have also lived in many other cities in Europe and the US. I have visited many parts of the world, and I decided to come back to live in Denmark despite the weather because of a lot of factors, - among them, Copenhagen that I find to be a very livable city.

I’m not the one saying the Copenhagen is the best city to live in the world. I think that depends on the person you are and your needs. But I like it here, and I hope I can contribute to you getting the best out of your time here as well.
