A trial recording of Cho'li
A trial recording of Cho'li iroq after the version of Abdurahim Hamidov as recorded on "Ouzbékistan : l'art du dotâr" released by Ocora.
The piece, literally "Desert in the mode of Iroq", is built on the mode or "melodic type" of Iroq (Iraq) from the Shashmaqom. The mood is meant to be sad and profound. It is also characterised by a rather long refrain (C/A below). The structure is roughly as follows:
Intro / A
B / C / A
B / D / C / A
B / E / C / A
B / F / D / C / A
**THIS IS AN AMATEUR RECORDING. THE AUTHOR CLAIMS NO AUTHORITY ON THE SUBJECT. INFORMED SUGGESTIONS MORE THAN WELCOMED!**
