Tutorial about creating / hosting COD4 LAN server using router.
Step by step :
1. You need to connect your computers / laptops to Router, you can connect it using :
-- Ethernet Cabel
-- Wireless
2. You need one computer / laptop which will host your COD4 server.
3. Find LAN IP address of computer / laptop using ipconfig command in cmd.
-- Run - cmd - ipconfig - IPv4 Address
-- Address should look like this one : 192.168.1.x
-- x is a number which represent one of the computers connected to LAN.
-- Example : 192.168.1.4
4. Go to your Call of Duty 4 folder and run iw3mp.exe
5. When game loads, choose your game MOD and go to Start New Server.
6. Set Dedicated to : LAN
-- Choose map and click Start
7. New console should open, in the space for commands add this line :
-- rcon_password pw
8. Go to Call of Duty 4 folder and run iw3mp.exe again.
9. When game loads, open console ( button below Esc ) and connect to LAN IP of computer you are using right now
-- connect 192.168.1.x
-- x is a number which represent computer who hosts LAN server
-- Example : 192.168.1.4
10. When your computer loads a map, you are ready to go.
11. If you want to connect to LAN server with another computer ( computer must be conncted to the same network ) just run iw3mp.exe and add this line to console :
-- connect 192.168.1.x
-- x is a number which represent computer who hosts LAN server
-- Example : 192.168.1.4
