The Colosseum is a famous monument located in Rome, Italy. It is a magnificent masterpiece that was designed to hold approximately 50,000 people and was built to watch Roman gladiators fight against each other or with wild animals. The amphitheater was built by Emperor Vespasian and his son Titus. The games were opened for 100 Day and Night However, after the fall of the Roman Empire, the Colosseum was no longer in use and parts of the monument were stolen and used to make other monuments in Rome. The Colosseum is now being restored and may soon return to its former glory.
