Heard about the first and last Bitcoin ATM in India? Or where it might be? How it might work?
Here's the complete story and all the details you'll need about the last Indian Bitcoin ATM and why it's the last, and what unidirectional and bidirectional Bitcoin ATMs are.
Back in 2018 Unocoin installed the first Bitcoin ATM in Bangalore but soon after that, RBI sent a notice and asked not to use cryptocurrency, and Unocoin had problems with its banking partner. Consequently, Bangalore City Police's Cyber Crime Department (you know who to blame if you're not Elon Musk right now) intervened to seize the ATM. After that, every other Bitcoin ATM in India was shut, except one in Gurugram, Haryana, installed by Portuguese company Digital Assets LLP, in a co-working space. It works more like a vending machine, than an ATM, which transfers Bitcoin to your Cryptocurrency wallet when you insert cash! PS - I also explain the differences between unidirectional ATMs and bidirectional ATMs and how they deal with cryptocurrency!
