Composed by George Callert (a pseudonym for Roman Zajaczek). He was from Poland [the son of a government official killed in WW2] who settled in West Germany with a German wife post-war.  He was Catholic and composed many sacred music pieces under his given name, but used pseudonyms to write pop/radio tunes [and collect additional royalties, a common practice at the time].
