Dry Eye Post Cataract Surgery

Dr. Sujatha Mohan is a phaco- refractive surgeon with a specialization in external eye disease and cornea. She is the Associate Medical Director of the Rajan Eye Care Hospital and the Director of Rotary Rajan Eye Bank. She aims to provide basic eye services to the rural and poor population in Chennai and its adjoining districts. Her interest also lies in eradicating preventable blindness from South India. Dry eye sensation frequently occurs after cataract surgery. Affected patients may experience red or watery eyes and constant foreign body sensation. Therefore, patients should be informed about the potential symptoms of dry eye post-cataract surgery. Intraoperative exposure to the microscopic light should also be minimized.
