AC Cells and Flare - Pathology + Clinical appearance #Shorts

Uveitis is characterised by breakage of the blood-aqueous barrier which leads to the leak of proteins and inflammatory cells from blood vessels into the clear aqueous humour in the anterior chamber (AC). So the protein leak is noted as AC Flare and the WBCs are seen as AC cells. Always examine AC cells and flare under high magnification with 1x1 mm beam slit in a dim-lit/ dark room for better identification.
