Salem Center Shopping Mall: The Rumors of the Death of the American Shopping Mall are Exaggerated

Abandoned shopping malls are a popular topic right now, and there are many internet videos of ghostly, empty shopping malls. So this video might come as a surprise.
It is quite different from when I went there as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s, when every store front was used and the mall was packed with people. But it isn't dead, either, with more spots filled, and lots of customers.
This might be because it is an urban mall, and the downtown Salem core is pretty active in general.
I don't know the complete story---maybe the mall's current occupancy levels aren't sustainable. But it seems to be working for now.
I also tried to be discreet while taking this video, so sometimes the camera angles are weird. Also, there were times when there were more people, but I didn't want to point my camera directly at them.
