항문은 왜 나타나게 됐을까?｜항문이 여러 개인 동물도 있을까?

‘항문’은 상당히 신기하면서도 재미있는 기관입니다.
일단 이곳에는 수많은 신경이 분포하고 있어
변이 배출되기 전, 이게 방귀인지 똥인지 알 수 있는 데다가
괄약근을 미세하게 조절해
똥 대신 슬며시 방귀만 낄 수 있습니다.
그리고 방귀가 찼을 때도 나오기 전에
‘푸쉬익~’ 하는 소리 없는 방귀가 나올지
‘뿌우우웅’하는 방귀일지 대략 짐작할 수 있죠.
또, 똥이라면 이게 딱딱한 똥인지,
물똥인지도 대충 짐작할 수 있습니다.
그만큼 항문은 신경세포가 밀집된 예민한 기관이죠.
　
자~ 그런데! 여기서 궁금증 하나!
인간을 비롯해 대부분의 동물들은
항문을 가지고 있는데요.
도대체 이 항문은 왜 생겨났을까요?
