▬  🧾 Description  ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Dr Hammad Haider has provided a thorough explanation of gastrulation and formation of both primitive streak and notochord. Moreover, body axis and villi formation alongside some congenital abnormalities have been delineated.

In this lecture, educator explains the third week of development. He briefs the Gastrulation or Formation of Tri Laminar Disc. Bilaminar embryonic germ disc is converted into a trilaminar embryonic disc. Extensive cell shape changes, rearrangement, movement, and changes in adhesive properties occur. First sign of gastrulation is the formation of primitive streak.

Due to proliferation of epiblast cells a linear thickening will be developed in mid line on the dorsal aspect of embryonic disc in caudal part, this is the beginning of development of Primitive streak. He explains the formation of Primitive Node.

Primitive streak develops into caudal 1/3 of embryo. Cells from the primitive streak move inwards to the ventral surface at the roof of yolk sac and displace the hypoplastic cells and form the Embryonic Endoderm. Moreover, establishment of body axis and both the primary and secondary villi has been elaborated.

Furthermore, Dr Hammad has shed light on the formation of allantois. Additionally, congenital abnormalities during this period have been highlighted.
