Simple yet tasty recipe of vadas made with bread, spices. Bread vada is one of those quick and easy snacks that can be made with bread slices.

BREAD VADA - (Serves - 4)

Ingredients

6 white bread slices, edges trimmed and cut into small pieces
Oil for deep-frying
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
4-5 curry leaves, roughly chopped
½ inch ginger, grated
2 tablespoons roasted peanuts, coarsely crushed
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Salt to taste
3 tablespoons rice four
¼ cup yogurt
A pinch of baking soda
Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Tomato ketchup for serving

Method

1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Take bread pieces in a bowl. Add onion, green chillies, curry leaves, ginger, peanuts, cumin seeds, salt, rice flour, yogurt and baking soda and mix till well combined.
3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into balls.
4. Deep-fry the balls in hot oil till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
