In NAIT's Digital Media and
In NAIT's Digital Media and IT program specializing in video production,students are prepared for a career in this exciting and ever changing world of digital media production.
The most current technology, techniques and fundamental skills are taught to ensure that upon graduating from the 2- year DMIT diploma program students will have the skills required to perform digital production duties in any of the 5 phases of production.
DEVELOPMENT
Create an original idea for a client, or themselves for a feasible video project and turn into an industry standard script format.
PREPRODUCTION
Work individually and in a team environment to assess various production formats to determine the planning requirements of each.
PRODUCTION
Work individually and in a team environment to plan, shoot and light broadcast quality HD video, record clean sound, organize and prepare material for the post-production process.
POST-PRODUCTION
Develop and plan the post production process, and work individually or as part of a team to ingest, assemble, edit a rough cut, edit a fine cut and add titles and credits to their video project.
DELIVERY
Students will also be able to deliver their projects in various formats including digital master, DVD and online delivery. Students will also be aware of self-distribution, film festival submission and self-marketing.
