As I promised in the last episode, here's the setup of the Alpine APKOVL file for the Proxmox VDI Client! This is the second half on the netboot setup - see the previous video for the server side setup. At this point in the project, we have a working TFTP and HTTP server, and we've compiled iPXE with a custom script to boot Alpine. But we need an Alpine APK Overlay file, so it can configure itself as our appliance.

Alpine APK Overlay files allow you to take a generic Alpine installation (in this case, a basic netboot kernel and intrd) and command it to install packages and apply configuration files to turn the system into the system you want. Here, we're going to install the Proxmox VDI Client we've used before, and build a netbooted thin client appliance using this cool feature of Alpine Linux.
