In this story, main character Dave lapses into economic collapse following the death of his cancer-afflicted wife and the onset of the crippling hospital bills following the events. In desperation, he takes to the streets, and eventually finds himself living among a band of other "homeless" souls living beneath the streets of his city. The behavior of his newfound "friends" is strange, however, and Dave struggles to find out as much as he can about the dark entity that marks those who live "under the city," and just what everyone living there with him is so afraid of.
