The straw ban is ableist.
The straw ban is ableist. After Seattle instituted a ban on plastic straws, several other cities have hopped on the bandwagon. People with disabilities often rely on plastic straws to stay hydrated, so these straw bans hurt people with disabilities. Banning plastic straws has very little positive impact on the environment while having immense negative impact on people with disabilities. It’s not very well known that the straw ban hurts people with disabilities, so I thought I’d make a video to raise awareness about it!
