Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit the Bahamas but PR missteps overshadow royal tour | ITV News

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge apologised for bringing British weather to the Caribbean as torrential downpours swamped the Bahamas.

Hundreds were excited to see the royal couple in the capital Nassau, but were left bedraggled by the monsoon-like conditions.

William and Kate waited until the worst of the weather had passed before walking into the capital’s Parliament Square to go on a walkabout while sheltering under umbrellas.

But, as ITV News Royal Editor Chris Ship notes, the tour has been overshadowed by protests about Britain's colonial past, with some perceived PR missteps along the way.
