Valmont Solar Panel Trackers Illustration Process

This was a complicated one to get right. Many client revisions make for a slightly longer video, but only 1:48 minutes of your time. I limited this video to a slideshow of images I sent to the client. Valmont Solar develops solar trackers and I was tasked to create three illustrations that were originally going to be animated but in the end, they weren't. Toward the end, everything was vector in all three, and then I had to add more realistic details in Photoshop. Tools of the trade used were Cinema 4D, Illustrator, and Photoshop in that order. Full disclosure: I was on a tight deadline for a planned vacation. I sent my final versions the night before I left and the client paid a photo retoucher from NYC to make all 3 look more realistic. They did a decent job, but I did the heavy lifting. The client was thrilled with the results. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work on this truly global product helping with alternative energy sources and learning a ton!
