What does GPA mean?

GPA stands for grade point average. Your overall GPA is the calculation of all your grades for all the classes that you have taken. Your GPA can determine a large number of things, whether you qualify for financial aid and scholarships, whether you are eligible to play your sport if you’re a student athlete, if you will be on academic suspension and if you graduate with honors.

A cumulative GPA is the grade point average of all of the classes that you have taken.

Why is my GPA important?

Your GPA is important because in some cases it can affect the classes that you can take. To take some classes or to get into a certain college after your freshman year, there is a required minimum GPA. Your GPA can also determine if you graduate with honors when receiving your degree.
