With their infectious music and personalities, Catfish and the Bottlemen blew us away at their debut Toronto performance last Sunday. It was wonderful finally meeting the group ahead of their set. For those of you who often read A Music Blog, Yea?, you'll know that we've featured Catfish in multiple interviews, concert reviews, and other posts. There was also this unique sense of community we felt when speaking with them; it's a gratifying feeling when a band we respect so much has a mutual respect and familiarity for what we do.

Not only that, but they're one of the most humble groups we've had the opportunity of meeting. You could tell they had a genuine care for their fans -- after their show, they stayed outside the venue and signed all of their fans' vinyls and CDs and even made selfie videos with the ones who requested. It's a wonderful thing to see a group so hard-working, gracious, and talented.

With that said, we folks at AMBY wish the absolute best to Catfish and the Bottlemen -- between you and us, we have a feeling they are going to be massive. After their impressive set in Toronto, we sat down with frontman Van McCann to discuss meeting Ewan McGregor, album artwork, conquering North America, Little Comets, and being a test tube baby.
