Lincoln has unveiled the new 2025 Aviator, showcasing a second-generation facelift built on the Ford CD6 platform, which is shared with the Ford Explorer SUV. Powering the updated Aviator is a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine, delivering 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The SUV comes standard with rear-wheel drive, with Intelligent Four-Wheel-Drive also available for enhanced traction. To elevate ride comfort, Lincoln offers an optional Air Glide Suspension.
The most prominent changes are observed at the front, where the Aviator flaunts a larger grille complemented by headlights that connect at the upper corners. Below, a revamped fascia features vertically oriented corner vents. While sharing a similar motif with the new Explorer, it's worth noting that the Aviator offers an illuminated grille badge, distinguishing itself further. The sides and rear maintain design continuity with the previous model, with the update primarily focusing on refreshing the exterior, particularly the front end.
Inside, a consistent theme prevails with larger digital screens now available for both the driver and front-seat passenger. The center display measures up to 13.2 inches, accompanied by a 12.4-inch instrument unit. Similar to the new Explorer, the Aviator boasts a 13.2-inch display with the Ford's digital driver screen slightly smaller at 12.3 inches. Interior aesthetics are enhanced with various color combinations, including Light Space Gray, Harvest Bronze, and Hot Chocolate.
The standout feature of the 2025 Aviator is its technological upgrades, introducing the Lincoln Digital Experience for the first time. This integration seamlessly incorporates Google and Amazon functionality into the Aviator's infotainment system, allowing native use of apps such as Spotify, Google Maps, YouTube, and built-in web browsers. Google Assistant or Alexa is also available for voice commands, all customizable according to the driver's preferences.
The 2025 Aviator introduces BlueCruise, a hands-free driving system, and Lincoln Co-Pilot 360, which includes lane-keep assist, a 360-degree camera, evasive steering assist, and reversing brake assist, now standard across all trim levels. Various black appearance packages and wheel choices are offered for customization, along with the exclusive Lincoln Black Label Invitation theme, borrowed from the larger Navigator.
The 2025 Aviator will be available for sale later this year, with prices starting at $58,495 for the entry-level Aviator Premiere, $67,495 for the mid-level Reserve, and $86,995 for the range-topping Black Label. Fully optioned, the Aviator nears $100,000, including the mandatory $1,395 destination charge.
