"FAHRELTAWK LÂM"  which literally means 'Dance over clashing pestles' also called Bamboo Dance is a traditional dance of the Hmar Tribe where the dancers put their best dresses and the ladies tied their heads with headbands and decorated it with flowers. The dance is performed on important occassions.

(In the evening, we friends and fellows enjoy life entirely on the street
The sound of stepping feet and waving hands echo around the street

Hordes of childhood friends are so graceful under the soft moonlight

Forefathers in ancient days feared pounding sound in open air for taking it to be the act of ghosts
However, it is the merry making of us new generations like in Sikpui festival
