LEGO Barad-dûr designer interview: How LEGO Barad-Dûr got made

LEGO Rivendell interview: LEGO 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Riv...

A potential future Middle-earth set may have been revealed in advance, thanks to a sneaky reference in LEGO Icons 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr.

Standing over 83cm tall, 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr includes 10 unique minifigures, is the ideal companion set for last year’s 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, features four-modular sections and is packed with whimsical moments, secrets and intriguing details.

In fact, one of the latter may well prove to be a subtle hint that another potential LEGO Lord of the Rings set might be arriving at some point in the future. Located in Sauron’s throne room is a small black knob that can be pulled, revealing a hidden Palantir orb and a map of Middle-earth.

Within the crystal ball can be seen a printed image of the white tree of Gondor, which may well suggest we’re getting our first glimpse of an upcoming Minas Tirith set. The Lord of the Rings location has yet to be recreated in LEGO form, so it might be possible that a model based on the capital of Gondor may well be on the way at some stage.
