The  Philippine Navy continues to bolster its Fleet with the latest upgrade to the new HDC 320 Corvette BRP Miguel Malvar.

Recent photos reveal that this vessel is equipped with the Turkish-made Aselsan Gokdeniz's 35 mm dual barrel close-in weapon system CIWS mounted on the ship's hangar superstructure.

The Gokdeniz 35 mm CIWS is among the most advanced systems in the world designed to provide reliable close in defense against missile and air threats. This dual-barrel weapon offers effective protection for the ship in intense combat situations.

The confirmation of the Aselsan CIWS installation on the BRP Miguel Malvar also reinforces previous rumors about a supply contract between Aselsan and Hyundai Heavy Industries for this system.
