SOLVED! Chevy HHR Cooling Fan No AC

HHR lost AC again due to what I thought was another issue with the cooling fan. Which it was, but not the same thing this time. Cooling fan checked out. After a lot of electrical tests (still learning electricals) discovered it also was not the connector or wiring to the fan. Or either of the cooling fan fuses in the fuse box. Nope. It was fuse box itself at the 30A cooling fan fuse. That should ALWAYS be hot - 12Volts). and it wasn't. seemed to be the only one that wasn't.
Remembered the tip for making sure the 4 bolts on the fuse box holding the upper part to the lower are REALLY tight. Had already done that in the past, but probably due to vibrations from driving and messing with the fuses constantly, things loosened up enough to break contact on the 30A. Decided to try tightening down the already seemingly very tight bolts and lo and behold, that was the problem. Well, that and low freon in the system.
Had been dealing with no AC for at least a month ..... again.... in the frickin' hot florida summer. Ended up saving me at least $225 at the local shop. And that's assuming they'd have known to check the box and realize the simple solution.
