Placebo is a band formed in 1994 in London, England. Its members are Belgian Brian Molko (vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist) and Swedish Stefan Olsdal (bassist, guitarist and keyboardist).
The alternative rock band was devised by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal in 1994. After a short performance together in Luxembourg, they were sure they should form a band. That same year, they invited Stefan's Genevan drummer and friend, Robert Schultzberg, to the Ashtray Heart. As early as 1995, the name changed to Placebo. The band began to gain projection, and in November this year released their first single. In that period, they opened shows for big bands and made small shows for their release.
