Justice Ranjan Gogoi sworn-in as 46th Chief Justice of India

Justice Ranjan Gogoi was sworn-in as the 46th Chief Justice of India (CJI) by President Ram Nath Kovind at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (Oct 3). Justice Gogoi is the first from the Northeast to become Chief Justice of India and will remain in office for a little over 13 months. He will retire on Nov 17, 2019.
