The Spartans and Wolverines duke it out in a bench-clearing brawl at the end of the first period at Joe Louis Arena. Watch for fights between goalies Jason Muzzatti and Steve Shields, and heavyweights Jim Cummins and Chris Tamer. Referee Matt Shegos handed out 39 penalties in the game, which MSU won 6-2.
