I worked at the World's Fair in New Orleans from about 10 days before its opening on May 12, 1984 and one day after its last day on November 11, 1984. I co-managed the Bally's Aladdin's Castle game arcade on Fulton Street at the fair. There were 7,335,279 visitors total which was not nearly enough and as a result, the fair filed bancruptcy. The game arcade I co-managed did squeeze out a small profit which made my superiors very happy! It was a great six months with tons of great top name entertainers performing and a magnificent fireworks show every single night. 95 countries had one type of venue or another. I was thrilled as I was on a very generous expense account. Many nights spent on Bourbon Street partaking of the great seafood, live jazz, alcoholic beverages and other New Orleans treats which will go unmentioned! By the way, this was unfortunately the very last World's Fair!
