Reviewing the best budget camera phones you can buy in 2022, for a price of £399 or under. Here's my top 10 favourite camera, smartphones that I've personally tested, including the Pixel 6a, Nothing Phone 1, Realme 9 Pro Plus, Samsung Galaxy A53 5G, Moto G82, OnePlus Nord 2T and more. If your main priority is photo and video quality, these budget mobiles are among the best right now!
Google's Pixel 6a is hands down one of the greatest mid-range phones for point-and-shoot ease. That camera may be older hardware than the regular Pixel 6 but those software smarts mean great results at any time of day. Likewise, Nothing's first smartphone offers strong value for money and quality optics, thanks to Sony's IMX766 sensor.
The Realme 9 Pro Plus also impresses at the £400 budget price, offering the same Sony IMX766 sensor as the Nothing Phone. This captures great pics even in quite low light, as does the OnePlus Nord 2T which again sports that sensor.
Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is good for photos and also shoots excellent video. You've got a great selection of bonus modes for the budget price point, with Sammy classics like Single Take Mode once again on board.
Other favourites at this cost include the Poco F4, Motorola Moto G82 and Nokia G60.
