Painting in watercolour - it’s not easy knowing how to get started. There is so much equipment available and from so many different brands. In this video I guide you through the most important products that you will need to get started - they won’t break the bank and they are excellent quality. There a three important points to keep in mind when buying the watercolour equipment you need:
1. It’s all about personal taste - experiment and go with what works for you and you feel comfortable with, not just what your favourite professional painters use;
2. Buy the best quality equipment that you can comfortably afford;
3. There is no magic in the equipment that you buy - none of it will make you a better painter! The work of experienced painters is the result of years of practice, not the equipment they have used.
Below are links to the equipment that I have mentioned in this video. I have used much of this equipment for many years and can recommend it for quality, consistency and reliability. Everything you’ll need to get started is here (but you certainly don’t need all of it!)
