People in Bangladesh celebrated after the prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, resigned following weeks of deadly anti-government protests, marking the end of her 15-year rule.

In Dhaka, crowds visited the parliament house as well as her looted residence, a day after she fled the country by helicopter. People were seen roaming through hollowed-out rooms littered with damaged furniture and shattered glass left by protesters who, earlier, stormed unopposed into the premises.
