Rajkot (Gujarat): Board of Cricket Control in India’s Secretary Jay Shah on February 14 attended the renaming ceremony of Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, which has been renamed after former BCCI and SCA Secretary Niranjan Shah. He confirmed that Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian Cricket team in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled to be held in 2024. Shah said that though India did not win the 2023 World Cup despite winning 10 games, but the team won hearts. "Everybody had been waiting for my statement on the World Cup. In 2023, India did not win the World Cup after winning 10 matches straight, but we won hearts. But I want to make a promise that in 2024, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India will win the T20 World Cup in Barbados."
