Hey everyone! Let's kick off 2017 with some cozy knit socks. These are super quick and easy to make. I found this pattern years ago online and just absolutely loved the design. Hope you guys enjoy!

Items:
Aluminum Double Pointed Needles size 4 (3.5mm)
1 - 2 skeins or 110 grams of sport weight or light weight yarn.
Baby Bee 3ply yarn in Pea Pod
Stitch Marker
Sewing Needle
Pen and Paper to keep track of your rows

Size:
small, (medium, larger)
These are women and men sizes, plus a larger size.

Finished Measurement:
Is determined by length of foot.

Gauge:
24 sts and 32 rows = 4" in stockinette


Cast on 44, (48, 52) sts
Work 8 rounds of *K1, P1; rep from *.

Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until sock measures 7", or desired length, ending on row 2.
Row 1: *K3, P1; rep from *
Row 2: *P1, K1, P2; rep from *

Heel Flap:
Knit 11, (12, 13) sts
Turn work, P22, (24, 26) sts on new needle.
Place remaining stitches on extra needle or holder.
Row 1: K2, *Sl1, K1; rep from *
Row 2: Sl1, Purl to end
Row 3: *Sl1, K1; rep from *

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 for 8, (9, 10) rounds, for a total of 19 (21, 23) rows.
Next Row: Sl1, Purl to end

Turn Heel:
K15 (16, 18), SKP (sl1, K1, psso), turn.
Repeat next 2 rows until all heel stitches have been worked in and you have 10 (10, 12) sts remaining.
Row 1: Sl1, P8 (8, 10), P2tog, turn
Row 2: Sl1, K8 (8, 10) SKP, turn

Work a plain knit row to get your working yarn to the left side of your heel.

Gusset:
With a new needle pick up and knit 11 (12, 13) sts along side.
With a new needle knit across instep in pattern.
For small size:
*P1, K3; rep from * 5 times, P1, K1
For medium size:
*K3, P1; rep from * 6 times
For large size:
K2, P1, *K3, P1; rep from * 5 times, K3

With a new needle pick up and knit 11 (12, 13) sts along side. On same needle knit 5 (5, 6) off heel needle.

At this point:
Needle 1 with 16 (17, 19) sts.
Needle 2 with 22 (24, 26) sts.
Needle 3 with 16 (17, 19) sts.

Gusset Decreases:
Repeat next 2 rounds 5 (5, 6) times for a total of 10 (10, 12) rounds.
Round 1:
Needle 1: Knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1
Needle 2:
Small size: *p2, K1, p1; rep from * 5 times, P2
Medium Size: *P1, K1, P2; rep from * 6 times
Large size: *K1, P3; rep from * 6 times, K1, P1
Needle 3: K1, SSK, Knit to end

Round 2:
Needle 1: Knit
Needle 2:
Small size: *P1, K3; rep from * 5 times, P1, K1
Medium Size: *K3, P1; rep from * 6 times
Large Size: K2, P1, *K3, P1; rep from * 5 times, K3
Needle 3: Knit

When the gusset is shaped there will be 11 (12, 13) sts on needles 1 & 3.

Foot Measurement:
Measure foot from heel to toe.
Add half and inch. Keep this number in mind.

Length:
Work the next set of 2 rounds until your piece measures 2" shorter then just measured size.

Round 1:
Needle 1: Knit
Needle 2:
Small: *P2, K1, P1; rep from * 5 times, P2
Medium: *P1, K1, P2; rep from * 6 times
Large: *K1, P3; rep from * 6 times K1, P1
Needle 3: Knit

Round 2:
Needle 1: Knit
Needle 2:
Small: *p1, K3; rep from * 5  times, P1, K1
Medium: *K3, P1; rep from * 6 times
Large: K2, P1, *k3, P1; rep from * 5 times, K3
Needle 3: Knit

Toe:
Repeat the next 2 rounds until 24 sts remain.

Round 1:
Needle 1: Knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1
Needle 2: K1, SSK, Knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1
Needle 3: K1, SSK, Knit to end

Round 2: Knit all needles

When 24 sts remain. Repeat Round 1 until 8 sts remain.

Now you can close up your sock. Decide if you want to close it up like a hat or use kitchener stitch.

Now repeat the same process from start to finish for second sock.
