Join 3GNY and fellow WEDU speakers to explore how sharing our family stories helps our students (and us) build resilience.

Dr. Marshall Duke, from Emory University's Laboratory for the Study of Family Narratives, will engage us in conversation about his research into how resilience is built by learning one’s family stories, along with the unique role and impact storytelling can have on 3Gs and the students who hear our stories.

Dr. Duke is an emeritus professor of psychology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. As a psychologist interested in resilience in children, adults, and families, he has focused for 30 years on the strengthening power of family stories in building and maintaining resilience in kids and families. In the last decade, Dr. Duke has focused primarily on the stories received and carried by children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors.
