Branded vs Generic Drugs (Save Money)

A treatment is essentially broken up into two components - there’s the drug which is the active ingredient and there are the excipients otherwise known as the inactive ingredients.

Excipients are included to aid in the manufacturing process in order to do things like protect, support or enhance the stability of a treatment.

If we go one step further and break down treatments, we can divide them into branded and generic. But how does a treatment become branded?
