Awit ng Paghahangad 2020 (All Male A Cappella)

This is one of Bukas Palad's pandemic music videos, one of a few not yet uploaded individually to this channel, and one of the earlier attempts of the group to record online. Bukas Palad worked ‘blind’ on this video in August 2020. It was a difficult arrangement which the group had not sung in years. On top of that, it was a new project edited on personal cel phones, unfamiliar software, and stuttering Internet connections. Our editor was unable to preview edits to the clips without exporting and rendering the whole thing. But things worked out, faster and easier than expected—partly because of the beauty and power of the song and arrangement, partly because the video and audio were prepared with care, largely because this was done with a community of friends I've been singing and praying with for 25 years. True to the song, in love and in faith, we find grace and direction, even in the darkness. We share this once more, today, September 3, 2023, as we hear the Psalm which inspired this song in Masses, and as we thank the Lord for carrying us through, and for filling our hearts with a holy longing for his presence.
