Imagawayaki is a Japanese dessert often found at Japanese festivals as well as outside Japan, in countries such as Taiwan and South Korea.

Imagawayaki (今川焼き) is like a stuffed pancake. The batter is poured into a special cast-iron round grilled pan and grilled until crispy on the outside and filled with sweet red bean paste.

Imagawayaki were introduced to Taiwan during the period of Japanese rule in Taiwan and are now a traditional snack in Taiwan. They are commonly called wheelcakes (車輪餅);   However, some of the older generation may directly use the Japanese term taiko manju (太鼓饅頭).

In Japan, the Gozasoro chain makes the best imagawayaki. They're known as imagawayaki in the Kanto region (Tokyo) though they're often referred to by different names depending on the region.
