Germany replaced Turkish Aerospace (TA) in manufacturing the midsection of the F-35 after Washington expelled Washington from the stealth fighter jet program.

This is realized through a contract signed by Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman with German company Rheinmetall.

With this potential partnership, a second integrated assembly line for the F-35 airframe will be built in Germany.

Turkey, which was a co-producer of the F-35 program, was removed from the F-35 program in September 2021.

Turkey's exclusion from the program was due to Ankara's purchase of the S-400 Triumf long-range air defense system from Russia.

Before being removed from the program, around 11 Turkish defense industry companies produced key parts for the F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.

TA is among the 11 companies named. TA's midsection was then delivered to Northrop Grumman before being fully integrated by Lockheed Martin. TA's role has now been replaced by Rheinmetall.

The US company's deal with Rheinmetall includes the installation of a second F-35 integrated mid-body assembly line in Europe.

Meanwhile, Turkey's exclusion from the F-35 Program has caused significant problems in the F-35 supply chain.

The negative effect of the removal of the Turkish company had an effect some time ago with the disruption of the F-35 supply chain.

Turkish industry is supposed to deliver more than 100 F-35 fighter jet bodies.

Turkey has received six F-35As produced for the Turkish Air Force. The aircraft is currently stored in the warehouse of the US Air Force.
