Orcs attack! Roll initiative! Classic words in Dungeons & Dragons, heard over and over again from dungeon masters everywhere. But should the monsters even be attacking in the first place? I submit that monsters should almost never attack first, and in this video I explain why. I'll discuss the various benefits of NOT having monsters attack first in your role-playing game.
